"You'll find Cantonese and Sichuan dishes on the menu, including deep-fried chicken with hot chilies. Ultimately, though, Shui Hu Ju's atmosphere is an even greater draw than the food: heavy antique doors welcome you into an intimate, lacquered-wood space that makes you feel as though you've just walked into a Zhang Yimou movie. It's expensive, but it's a Hong Kong experience not to be missed."

"Through the elaborate old gates into the chic, 'Modern Antique', grey and lacquer interior. Divinely simple, spicy, northern cuisine with class."
Luxe Hong Kong & Macau, Luxe Asia Limit - January 2007
“This first restaurant on Graham Street proved so popular the owners opened a second place just blocks away on Peel Street. They’re both done out stylishly in retro Chinese decor, and it’s obvious that thought and care has gone into everything from the delicious food to the way the bill is presented. The menu differ slightly, but the food at both places is primarily Northern Chinese, with heavy flavours and lots of spices.”
